The local hero of Majayjay, where he has a monument standing in the town square on the side of the Catholic church, I hope someone at least remembers him today and pays tribute and appreciation for his heroism.
In July 1899, with the permission of General Juan Cailles, his remains were exhumed and transferred to the Majayjay Town Hall. And because of the memory and love of his countrymen, a street and barangay in the poblacion were named after him and were called Kalye and Barangay Origuel. During my tenure as councilor, I proposed to the council to annually commemorate the death of our Pambayang Bayaning Capitan Origuel (similar to Dr. Jose Rizal). Offer flowers and prayers in honor of Majayjay, the protector and hero of the motherland.
